Itokazu Ruins, Okinawa

Fun Flying Four Itokazu Castle Ruins (1 of 1)

I am not sure how this wee adventure slipped through the blogging cracks but somehow it happened!

Matt & the girls have been getting in lots of Go Pro practice so by summertime when the water has warmed up they should pro and be able to get some cool underwater footage

We actually explored these ruins way back in January in the middle of the harsh Okinawa winter!

Itokazu Castle Ruins are not the most intact of the ruins on Island that we have seen but they certainly aren’t the most collapsed either.

What was particularly fun about this wee adventure was it was Eden’s first ‘rock climbing’ experience.

Perfect for a nearly 5 year old; the ruins weren’t too challenging that Eden needed to be carried but challenging enough that she learnt a little about where to place her feet and hands.

I really wanted to be able to walk along the castle walls but I couldn’t work out how to get up there! Matt managed to find a way but at this point we were ready to leave.

There was another area we contemplated climbing up but we let our fear of snakes get in the way so we turned around instead!

Every time I think we have ticked off all the castles/ruins I come across a signpost indicating another, I think we have at least 3 more to see, that I know of that is!
